โ† Help

๐Ÿ‘ช For parents

You don't need an account or an app. Your phone is all you need, and it remembers you for later trips.

1. Open your child's trip

  • Scan the trip's QR code with your phone camera (it's on the flyer or message from the school), or go to fieldtrippro.app/parent and type the trip code.
  • Type your phone number. We email a 6-digit code to the email address the school has for you. Type it in to confirm it's you.
  • No email arrived? Check your spam folder, use Send the code again, or type the family code your school sent home instead. If your number doesn't work, use Find my child by name instead.

Finding your way around

The bar at the bottom of the trip page has everything:

  • ๐Ÿ  Home: the trip details (date, times, cost, where, when to sign by) and a card for each of your children showing what's left to do. If the place you're visiting is on FieldTripPro, a card from them has maps, guides and answers to common questions (what to wear and bring, lunch, accessibility).
  • ๐Ÿ“„ Forms: each child's forms to read and sign, and your signed copies. A โ— means something is waiting for you.
  • ๐Ÿ“ฃ Updates: messages from the teacher and, on the day, your child's check-ins. The number shows how many updates there are.
  • ๐Ÿ“ท Photos: trip photos the school shares with you (if your school uses them).
  • ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿซ Chaperone: shown if you can volunteer, or if you are a chaperone (see below).

More than one child on the trip? Tap a child's name at the top of Forms, Updates or Photos to switch between them. The โ˜ฐ Menu at the top of the page has your language, notifications, "add another child" and Sign out.

2. Read and sign

  • You see each of your children on ๐Ÿ  Home. Another child on the same trip? Open โ˜ฐ Menu and add them by typing their first and last name exactly as the school has it.
  • Press Read & sign (on Home or in ๐Ÿ“„ Forms). Read the form, fill in any questions (like allergies or lunch choice), then sign with your finger or mouse and press Sign.
  • You can download your signed copy at any time. You'll see Approved to go once the teacher approves your child.

Reading in your language

Open โ˜ฐ Menu and pick your language: the screens switch right away, and the school's forms, trip details, the teacher's messages and photo captions are translated for you. If a page isn't ready yet, a short note says so and the page updates by itself in a minute. You always sign the official English form, and you can see the English original at any time. See Translation services.

Forms on the place's own website

Some places you visit (a zoo or museum, for example) need you to sign a form on their website. You'll see it in ๐Ÿ“„ Forms with a ๐ŸŒ: press Open the form, sign it there, then come back and press I've signed it for that child. Changed your mind? Press Undo.

Paying the trip fee

If the trip has a fee, the ๐Ÿ  Home view shows what's owed for each of your children. If the school takes online payments, press Pay online by card: you pay on Stripe, a secure payment page, by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and the money goes to the school. You can pay for all your children at once (untick a child to leave them out). Paid children show โœ“ Paid; if the school gives a refund, it goes back to the same card in 5-10 days. Some schools add a small convenience fee for card processing; it's shown before you pay. Questions about the fee or a refund? Ask your child's teacher or school.

Your child's bus

Once the school has put students on buses, the ๐Ÿ  Home view shows which bus your child rides (bus number and company) with the pick-up and return times.

Add the trip to your calendar

Under the trip's date, press ๐Ÿ“… Add to my calendar (iPhone, Android, Outlook) or Google, so you don't forget the day, the leaving and return times, and the place.

On the day of the trip

  • ๐Ÿ“ฃ Updates: messages from the teacher, such as "We've arrived" or "Running late", and your child's check-ins as staff tap them: on the bus at school, arrived at the field trip, on the bus to return, back at school (if your school uses them).
  • ๐Ÿ“ท Photos the school shares with you. You may only see photos of your own child's group.
  • An estimated arrival time on ๐Ÿ  Home.
  • Turn on Notifications in the โ˜ฐ Menu to get updates without opening the page.

Chaperoning?

If the teacher added you as a chaperone, sign in the same way and open ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿซ Chaperone in the bottom bar. You'll see only your group, including any allergy alerts for those students, and you can send photos to the teacher, who approves them before other parents see them. Want to help on a trip? Open ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿซ Chaperone and send a request (if you aren't signed in with your phone number yet, look for Chaperoning this trip? on Home).

Your privacy

You only see the children you've added by name, never the class list. Some trips include a waiver from the place you're visiting (a zoo or museum, for example). You sign it here like the school's forms, and the venue only sees it if the school chooses to share it for that trip. Using a shared phone? Open โ˜ฐ Menu and press Not your phone? Remove your children from it. Read our privacy policy.
